Sights in Stuttgart

Visit the Schlossplatz Square, Solitude Palace or the Mercedes-Benz Museum.

Those who like it cosy or wish to enjoy a culinary treat, can, if the mood takes them, let themselves be pampered in one of Stuttgart's traditional and atmospheric wine taverns in the city centre or in one of the many restaurants - perhaps with a Swabian speciality and a "Viertele" (a quarter litre of wine).

The New Castle

Stuttgart - The New CastleThe New Castle served as Württemberg's royal residence until the middle of the 18th century. It was modelled on contemporary French architecture. Later the premises were remodelled in the style of the German Empire. Today the state ministries of Baden-Württemberg and several reception halls are housed in the palace.

TV Tower

The TV tower's viewing platform is about 152 metres high and offers a unique view over Stuttgart, the wine-growing slopes of the Neckar Valley and over the Swabian state up to the Alb mountain range, with the Odenwald forest to the north and the Black Forest to the south.

Mercedes-Benz Museum

Stuttgart - Mercedes-Benz MuseumThe Mercedes-Benz Museum, which was reopened in 2006, exhibits the more than 120-year history of the automobile. The first cars from the world of Karl Benz and Gottlieb Daimler and the legendary Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Coupé are just

a few highlights. Marvel at these technological milestones, the forward-

looking design and the unique history.

Wilhelma Zoo

Stuttgart - Wilhelma zoological and botanical gardenOne of the most-visited sights in Baden-Württemberg is the unrivalled Wilhelma zoological and botanical garden.
