location of this city, on the crossroads of several important trade

name that Leipzig has bestowed upon itself in a rather tongue-in-cheek
manner. Today, the city of Leipzig displays a unique flair and is
livelier than ever. It attracts visitors with its extremely
pedestrian-friendly, straightforward inner city with its passageways
and thoroughfares leading to shopping venues of all kinds, inspiring

fascinating not least due to its exciting nightlife.
Our tip: Visit
"Auerbachs Keller", the second oldest guesthouse in Leipzig, which
achieved world fame thanks to Goethe's drama "Faust".
Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra and Gewandhaus Concert Hall
Classical music has been encouraged and developed in Leipzig for some 250 years and the Gewandhaus Orchestra has achieved international fame, in the same way as the Gewandhaus itself. Panometer Leipzig
The
term Panometer was born from the amalgamation of the words panorama and
gasometer: behind the brick facade of a converted gas storage unit,

present. From the 27th March 2009, guests can marvel at the
360°
panoramic painting "Amazonia" and be transported into the world of the
Brazilian rain forest.
City of Reunification and Change
Leipzig was the starting point of the peaceful revolution of 1989, which then spread across the whole of former East Germany.
